Capabilities

Design, tooling and molding under one roof

Highly sophisticated manufacturing equipment plus exceptional know-how, applied from the first sketch through the last shot - so you reduce development time and cost instead of managing three vendors.

01 - Design

The meeting of plastics technology and skill

Design is where a molded part is won or lost. We take the time up front to examine every critical aspect of the injection mold - gating, parting lines, shrinkage, draft, ejection - because a decision made at the sketch stage costs pennies and the same decision made in hardened steel costs thousands.

CAD/CAM

We specialize in Mastercam, the largest selling PC-based CAD/CAM program, and accept direct file transfers by email. Send your geometry to Bruce Argetsigner and we will work from your native files rather than asking you to re-draw anything.

Troubleshooting and re-engineering

Our reputation was built over years of resolving other people's design issues and re-engineering tools that failed. If you have a part that has never run right, that history is the most useful thing you can send us.

What to send with an inquiry

  • Part print or Mastercam / STEP / IGES file
  • Resin, or the performance the part has to meet
  • Annual volume and run size
  • Critical dimensions and tolerances
  • What went wrong last time, if anything

02 - Tooling

Molds built by people who have done it for thirty years

Our moldmakers each carry more than three decades of experience. We build in fully hardened tool steel, prehardened steel and aircraft quality aluminum, and we hold tooling tolerances to .0001 inch on our CNC milling and EDM equipment.

Crisp parting lines, cleanly produced threads and fine component detailing are where that experience shows. Because tooling and molding sit in the same building, a sample that comes off the press wrong on Tuesday is a corrected tool on Thursday, not a three-week round trip to an outside shop.

03 - Molding

From a hundred pieces to half a million

Our presses run from 20 ton / 1.5 oz up to 500 ton / 68 oz, which covers everything from a part that weighs a fraction of a gram to substantial industrial components. Production runs range from a few hundred pieces to 500,000.

Everything is produced on site. That gives us complete control of the process and lets a program move from prototype to production-ready mold quickly and economically, without a handoff in the middle where accountability tends to disappear.

  • Clamp force20 - 500 ton
  • Shot capacity1.5 - 68 oz
  • Run size100 - 500,000 pc
  • Production100% on site
  • Facility10,000 sq ft

04 - Materials

Resins most shops would rather not quote

We have run the range from PE through PEEK: polyolefin resins, engineering resins, rigid PVC and elastomers. The hard-to-handle materials are the ones that require knowledge, skill and attention during molding, and they are a large part of why customers find us.

We can also help you select a resin that color-identifies or matches your brand, so parts are distinguishable on an assembly line or in the field without a secondary operation.

Materials experience

  • Polyolefin resins - PE, PP
  • Engineering resins through PEEK
  • Rigid PVC
  • Elastomers
  • Color matching and brand identification

Not sure it can be molded? That is the call we like.

Send the print. We will tell you honestly whether it can be done, what it will take, and if we are the wrong shop for it.
