How we work
Mold transfer & re-engineering
Clients often come to us after years of unsuccessful attempts to produce a complicated part. We accept transfers of existing molds and re-engineer them to meet changes in application, tolerance or resin - and to meet the zero rejection rate that precision work demands.
Mold transferConsulting
We consult on plastic molded part design problems that are beyond the capabilities of most moldmakers. Because of our depth of engineering experience we can determine how to make a better part, how to do it more economically, and how to verify tolerances so parts fit seamlessly together. We also help with product development and prototype design.
Resin application
Our processes extend to the specialized application of engineering resins. We are experienced with hard-to-handle materials including elastomers, rigid PVC and high-end PEEK, all of which demand knowledge and attention during molding. We can also help you select resins that color-identify or match your brand.
Troubleshooting
With our troubleshooting expertise there is no wasted time or effort in development. We take the time up front to carefully examine every critical injection mold design aspect, which is how we end up saving customers money rather than spending it.

Externally threaded parts & threaded mold cavities
MTI's roots are in developing and molding threads. We have the concentrated knowledge to adjust for plastic shrinkage so threads align flawlessly and your product adheres to industry standards, plus the specialized technique of cutting threads into molds for threaded cavities.
Threaded partsEnclosures & connectors
Making sure plastic parts join together and cross sections meet smoothly, with no flash or burrs, is a Mold Threads specialty. Many of the parts we produce are used in highly sensitive applications where there is no margin for leakage or flow interruption.
EnclosuresSmall & complex parts
Complicated, often minute parts require special skill. We have successfully produced intricate components other molders thought unachievable - consistent precision parts weighing a fraction of a gram, found in medical devices, environmental products and telecommunications equipment.
