The join is the part

Making sure plastic parts join together and cross sections meet smoothly, with no flash or burrs, is a Mold Threads specialty. On an enclosure or a connector, the geometry that matters is not the wall or the boss - it is the few thousandths where two halves meet.

Many of the custom component parts we produce are used in highly sensitive applications where there is no margin for leakage or flow interruption. A burr on a mating face that would be invisible on a consumer housing is a scrapped assembly on a fluid connector.

Where it comes from

Clean joins are a tooling outcome, not an inspection outcome. Crisp parting lines come from how the mold is cut and how it is maintained, so we build the tool and run the part in the same building - the moldmaker who cut the parting line is the person who sees the first sample come off the press.

That line is from our Healy Systems case study, a two-piece hose breakaway valve for vapor recovery fuel dispensing. Healy consulted six molders before us. It is the clearest example we have of what this specialty actually buys you.
